Your privacy is important to us and we take care to ensure that your privacy
is respected and your information is not misused. In order to demonstrate our
firm commitment to privacy, we here at www.caledonianlife.com ("Site") have
created this privacy statement ("Statement").
Because we gather important information from our visitors and customers, we have
established this Statement as a means to communicate our information gathering
and dissemination practices. We reserve the right to change this Statement and
will provide notification of the change by posting the new Statement on the
Site.
This Site is owned and operated by Caledonian Life. By using our
Site and/or submitting the personal information that we request, you are
accepting the practices described in this Privacy Policy and expressly agreeing
to accept offers from us, our customers, our partners, and/or any third party to
whom we may sell, license, and/or transfer your information. Such customers,
partners, and/or third parties include underwriters and/or insurance carriers.
Collection of Information
We require visitors and/or customers who wish to apply for
insurance and/or purchase the products and/or services offered on our Site to
initially give us the following information: the state in which they currently
reside, gender, age and smoking habits.
Subsequently, we may request some or all of the following additional
information: name, address, phone number, and e-mail address, financial
qualification information, and billing information (including billing name and
address, and credit card number).
Other information relevant to an insurance application, such as beneficiary
information, family information, and the like, may also be collected.
We use the information we collect to identify products in which
you have expressed an interest, and to determine whether you qualify for these
products. We may forward this information on to underwriters and/or insurance
carriers for them to evaluate and/or process in order to determine whether you
qualify for purchase of the product(s) in which you expressed an interest, as
well as to deliver, service, process, update, and/or maintain the said
product(s).
We may also use the information to evaluate future interest or qualification in
services and/or products that we or our partners may offer, and to contact
customers to further discuss interest in other product(s) or services that we or
our partners may provide in the future.
All financial and billing information that we collect through
the Site is used solely to check the qualifications of prospective customers and
to bill for products and/or services. We do not use this billing information for
marketing or promotional purposes. We use a third party intermediary to manage
the credit card processing and transfer your billing information to this
intermediary only for billing purposes.
This intermediary is solely a link in the distribution chain, and is not
permitted to store, retain, or use the information provided, except for the sole
purpose of credit card processing.
As is common with many web sites, our server automatically
collects information from visitors to and customers of the Site, such as
Internet addresses. This information is logged to help diagnose technical
problems, and to administer our Site in order to constantly improve the quality
of the information and products that we may offer. We may also track and analyze
non-identifying and aggregate usage and volume statistical information from our
visitors and customers and provide such information to third parties.
We use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our
server, and to administer our Web site. Your IP address is also used to gather

the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. All user
information stored on our server is stored in a password-protected environment.
Notwithstanding these efforts, we caution you that “perfect security” does not
